So that was 2025!
My paintings of 2025 Eight years of Tamsin Stuart Art in January 2026. Eight years I have thrown everything at my business. I’ve learned lots in that time and it’s been fun, still is, immensely. There really is nothing that compares to where I go when I create. I head into 2026 having changed my business model quite a bit. The most significant change being I’ve gone back to work, part-time paid work. To give me and my family some financial stability, yes. But mainly to take a

Kindness carries more clout
Sinking from my first ever exhibition in 2019 just before I painted over it in 2025 Painted over an old painting yesterday to make way for a new one and it got me reminiscing about my first exhibition. It was such a high. I was invited to take part in a group exhibition as part of Cheltenham Open Studios in 2019. I was so up for it and sold an original within the first hour. Was also when I first encountered a hint of local art snobbery. I don't tend to dwell on the negative

Help us honour hero police dog Stark
Today my painting of police dog Stark is making a special appearance in the window at Dove Gallery as part of the Lockdown Countdown art exhibition. He is an incredible dog. He was attacked with a machete just over a week ago as he fought to detain a suspect. His bravery, determination and utter awesomeness in the face of such danger inspired me to paint him as a heartfelt thank-you to him and his partner PC Paul Hopley. Thankfully, Stark will make a full recovery from his mu

Glowing in the dark
So that's my Paint! Punch! Positivity! 2020 exhibition off I'm afraid. But to be honest, it was always on the cards. As winter pressures loom, doing all we can to get this virus under control takes priority over everything. There's so many people suffering such awful hardship at the hands of this thing. Keeping our nearest and dearest safe comes first every time. Painting, punching and positivity will get me through this next lockdown, same as the last. Hope you have some fai

Walk away
Quite like to paint subjects from a different perspective, one that makes your brain work a bit, to translate what it's looking at and from where. Mabie Baby was one of those. As we wandered around the Scottish forest the most impressive thing about these majestic beauties were their sheer height. Standing right up close to the base of a huge tree and looking up the trunk was quite an experience and immediately inspired me to create, to try to recreate that feeling. Painting
